Dea Bekteshi, O.D.

Dr. Dea Bekteshi, OD is a distinguished optometrist with over nine years of experience in the field. Dr. Bekteshi developed her passion for eye care early on, dedicating her career to improving patients’ vision and eye health.

Dr. Bekteshi attended the University of North Texas in Denton, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2016. She then continued her education at the University of Houston, Texas, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, also graduating magna cum laude in 2021. During her academic journey, she was recognized with two Letters of Clinical Excellence and served as Vice President of SAAO, as well as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. Dr. Bekteshi is certified in Zenlens and Paragon CRT and is proficient with EMRs such as Compulink, RevolutionEHR, and Uprise.

Upon completing her education, Dr. Bekteshi gained extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings. She has managed patients in dry eye clinics, post-operative care, and those with keratoconus, fitting them with RGP and scleral lenses. She has also performed myopia management with atropine and orthokeratology. Dr. Bekteshi treats a multitude of optometric conditions as well as ophthalmic diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration.

Dr. Bekteshi’s professional journey includes positions at Plano Eye Associates in Plano, TX, Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, TX, and Eye Care, Inc. in Shreveport, LA, where she has managed a diverse range of eye conditions. Her extensive expertise in medical optometry, myopia management, and dry eye services underscores her commitment to providing comprehensive eye care to her patients.

Although Dr. Bekteshi is deeply passionate about her work, she also enjoys spending her free time engaging in various hobbies and activities.
