LASIK
LASIK (Laser Assisted in-situ Keratomileusis) was approved for use in the United States in 1999 to help patients achieve clear vision without glasses or contacts. Over the past 20+ years, LASIK technology has improved to allow for a bladeless technique that results in an excellent visual outcome with minimal discomfort and downtime.
The procedure involves two different lasers. The femtosecond laser creates a thin flap in the cornea, and the excimer laser then reshapes the cornea to perfectly focus light onto the retina. This can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Bundrick utilizes the most cutting-edge and state-of-the-art laser technology available.
Imagine permanently improving your eyesight in just minutes! Most patients have clear vision as early as the first postoperative day and have no trouble driving or returning to work. * Some conditions may limit your eligibility to undergo LASIK including thin corneas, extreme near or farsightedness, and keratoconus. Some of these conditions may be correctable with other surgical options including dysfunctional lens replacement (clear lens exchange) or cataract surgery, so call to schedule an appointment for more information if you would like to be less dependent on glasses. *
